TBP Presents: Sierra Nevada Beer Camp Across America @ Blind Tiger Ale House

On Wednesday, July 23rd I attended a special event at Blind Tiger Ale House (281 Bleecker Street New York, NY 10014) featuring Sierra Nevada Brewing Company’s (SN) 12 Beer Camp Across America collaboration beers. After sampling 2 of the beers, I took 10 minutes to chat with Jan Apanich, SN’s New York City area manager about the beers and the recent growth of Sierra Nevada’s size and it’s at times pigeon-holed reputation of being a exclusively (or primarly) hop forward beer brewery. Being that many craft beer drinkers (myself included) agree about this reputation / opinion; Jan’s answers gave me hope for new and innovative beers from Sierra Nevada Brewing Company as it expands and establish its presence as a national brewery by having both a West Coast (Chico, CA) brewery and an East Coast (Mills River, NC) brewery.

In the end I tried 6 of the 12 collaboration beers and liked Double Latte, SN’s collaboration with Ninkasi Brewing Company the most. Comment below if you’ve tried any of these beers and which one/s you liked the best. Cheers to Sierra Nevada Brewing Company and Blind Tiger Ale House for yet another great craft beer experience!
